It was such a pleasure to attend Duffy’s Hope 14th Annual Celebrity Basketball Game. Every year Duffy’s Hope rolls out an amazing red carpet of celebrities and hometown heroes of Newark Delaware to come and play for a great cause. Duffy’s Hope who’s headquarters are in Newark, DE is an organization whose sole mission is to advance the community hopes by fostering the academic achievement and social enrichment of at-risk youth through advocacy, education, mentoring and community outreach.
So at this years 14th Annual Celebrity Basketball Game, the celebrities really came out to show their support for the youth. The mission of these games are to be able to continue to provide programs for the youth in the community. This years roster was star studded and full of genuine stars from Letoya Luckett (Former Destiny’s Child member) Lance Gross ( Tyler Perry House of Payne), Actor and Singer Rotimi ( Power), Tami Roman ( Actress), Tammy Brawner ( Harlem Globetrotter), Mone Davis ( Athlete), Wesley Johnson ( Roll Bounce) and so many….
The event was purely for the kids as they watched their favorite celebrities play to win, the crowd danced, sang and had a chance to get pictures and autographed material. The event was truly dedicated to the youth and I love how the celebrities really took the time out to speak very highly about hard work, motivation and how much events like this mean to them.
I can’t wait to join Duffy’s Hope next year it was truly an inspirational event.
